Equipment List

Below is a list of all the equipment we will be using when it comes to our music video. By creating a list now it ensures that when it comes to filming we are well prepared as we will know exactly what we need.
  • Car- used for transition shots and for getting to and from locations
  • Camera- to film shots
  • Tripod- to ensure that the camera is still and straight when filming
  • Memory card- able to save our footage
  • Premiere pro- so we can edit our video
  • Computer- upload and edit or footage
  • Earphones- so we can listen back to our video carefully

Prop/Costume List

This is a list of the props and costumes we will need when it comes to filming. By preparing and getting them organised now means that when it comes to filming we will not delay any time trying to get old of props and putting costumes together.

Props

  • Sparkler- used during one of the shots
  • Glasses- used to frame a shot
  • Guitar- used on the beach
  • Book- used in the woods
Costume

  • Makeup- we will be using minimalistic makeup to give the protagonist a natural look so that she is more relatable to teenagers. We will also be using some gold and brown eye shadows to give it more of an autumnal feel.
  • Sweater, Boots, Jeans- this reflects the setting and the time of year, as well as the sweater linking to the title of the song
  • Phone- used at the start when she is deleting pictures of the couple.
  • Curly hair- we wanted to give the protagonist loose, natural looking curls because this is a common hairstyle and we didn't want to do anything too complicated as we need to be able to replicate the look on different days of filming.

Practise Filming

In todays lesson we decided to do some recce filming for the shots after they've just broken up and she is ripping up pictures of them together to emphasise the fact they have broken up to the audience. We wanted to practise framing and making sure we get the right angle so that when it came to filming we knew exactly what we wanted and didn't waste time on the day trying to figure it out. I am pleased with how it turned out, we started off using a mid shot at the start and then an over the shoulder shot to show what the picture is of, however after filming we decided that to make it more modern and realistic. We would use the same shots, but of her taking her phone out of her pocket and then deleting pictures off her phone instead as we think this is more relatable to teenagers today as no one carries around pictures with them.

Filming Schedule

We decided to make a filming schedule for over half term as this is when we are planning to collect most of our footage. By planning out all the days we are free before we start filming means that we know exactly what days we are filming and what shots we are doing so that everything flows better on the day and it causes less problems.

Monday 23rd October
  • All Sidmouth shots- Swing shots , glasses shots & Jacobs ladder
  • Sunrise time lapse
Wednesday 25th October
  • Abandoned house in Exmouth
  • Woods shots in Woodbury Common
Friday 27th October
  • All Ottery shots- Church, shot of the bridge & tumbling weir
  • Sunset at Sidmouth time lapse
